Ryan Akers - Head Strength, Conditioning & Performance Coach

Certification: MS, NSCA-CSCS, USAW, TRX Group Instructor, CPR

About Ryan:

My name is Ryan Akers. Coming from a family of athletes I began participating in organized sports at four years old. Throughout my life I have been a firm believer in the idea that hard work leads to success. As an athlete I was determined to outwork my opponent and this same mindset is applied in my training.

I received my B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and my M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas. I am also certified as a USA Weightlifting Performance Coach and an NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist . Over the past 15 years I have worked with athletes and individuals of all ages and abilities. My career as a Strength coach began at Johnson County Community College under Istvan Javorek. Coach Javorek has trained Olympic medalists and professional athletes across the globe. I then went on to the University of North Texas. At UNT I had the opportunity to train athletes in all sports, both male and female. Since 2011 I have devoted my career to helping individuals reach their goals through fitness a nutrition.

Personal Approach to Training

As a coach I believe in positive reinforcement. Creating and enjoyable atmosphere is essential for long term dedication to the program. It is important that the individual is educated about their training. They must know and understand why they are doing something or following a particular program in order to buy in and believe in what they are doing. If we can enjoy and believe in our training the limits become endless. Let us teach you how to live and ELITE Life!
